Ogun State Hosts Inaugural Secondary School Spelling Bee

The Onakpa Emmanuel Foundation has announced plans to organize a spelling bee competition for secondary schools in Ogun State, in partnership with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). The initiative aims to promote literacy and academic excellence among students, enhance vocabulary, improve communication skills, and encourage a culture of reading and intellectual engagement.

The competition will provide a platform for young learners to build confidence and develop public speaking abilities while participating in healthy academic competition. A total of ten schools have been selected to participate in this inaugural event, comprising five private and five public secondary schools in the state.

Each participating school will represent one student accompanied by a teacher. The event is expected to attract educational stakeholders and support academic development within and beyond Ogun State.

The organizers express optimism that the Ogun State Secondary School Spelling Bee Championship will become a major annual academic event.
