Oyebanji Sponsors Spell Bee Champion to World Finals

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji has pledged to sponsor 14-year-old Oluwadamilola Adeolu, who recently emerged as the winner of the African Spell Bee competition, to the world finals scheduled to be held in China later this year. The total sponsorship package amounts to N8 million, which includes N2 million for Adeolu, N1 million for her coach Esther Omolayo, and N5 million for St. Lawrence Metropolitan College.

Governor Oyebanji made this announcement during a meeting in Ado Ekiti, where he received Adeolu, her mother Oluwabunmi Adeolu, and the school proprietor Olawafemi. He emphasized his administration's commitment to prioritizing education as a central pillar of development and commended Adeolu for bringing honor to Ekiti State and Nigeria.

The governor also noted ongoing efforts to improve the education sector, including investments in infrastructure and teacher capacity building, and encouraged students to remain focused on their studies.
