Four Jos Traders Feared Killed in Ambush Near Pankshin

On Monday, four traders from Jos were feared killed in an ambush by suspected hoodlums while traveling to Pankshin in the Gangar area. The attack occurred as the traders were en route to the weekly market, with reports indicating that the assailants intercepted them at gunpoint.

Suleiman Abubakar, an official from the Trader Market Association in Jos, confirmed the incident, stating that two out of six traders managed to escape. The attack has triggered anxiety within the Gangar community, with residents expressing fears of possible reprisals.

In response to the escalating tensions, security personnel have been deployed to the area to prevent further unrest. Government sources disclosed that intervention was necessary to prevent the corpses from being transported back to Jos for burial, citing concerns over inflaming tensions.

The victims were subsequently buried in Barkin Ladi according to Islamic rites. As of now, security agencies have not issued an official statement, and investigations into the attack are ongoing.
