Ondo Police Arrest Four Suspects in Connection to School Proprietor's Abduction

The Ondo State Police Command has successfully arrested four suspects connected to the abduction of school proprietor Mr. Tomiola Oladehinde in Ilu Abo community, Akure North Local Government Area.

The abduction occurred last Sunday when gunmen stormed his residence, kidnapped him, and later released him after five days. The arrests were made based on credible intelligence and collaboration with local vigilante groups in Ilu Abo community.

One of the suspects, Abenaguna Muhammad, was found in possession of criminal charms and confessed to being part of a kidnapping syndicate operating in the area. The syndicate, led by a notorious figure known as Lanr Tomato, was responsible for several recent abductions.

The arrests followed an intelligence-driven operation launched after a violent incident on January 25, 2026, where residents of Liberty Avenue in Ilu Abo were attacked. The suspects are currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing to uncover more evidence and ensure prosecution in court.
