Monarch Urges Tinubu to Free Nnamdi Kanu at Aso Rock

During a traditional religious leaders summit held at Aso Rock, Abuja, on Tuesday, Dr. Lawrence Agubuzu, the traditional ruler of the Ogbunechendo Ezema Olo Kingdom in Enugu State, called on President Bola Tinubu to either release Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the imprisoned leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), or return him to Kenya.

Agubuzu's remarks were met with applause and highlighted the ongoing agitation among the youth in the Southeast due to Kanu's continued incarceration. He expressed concern that Kanu's imprisonment fuels discontent and division among the people.

Agubuzu also emphasized the need for unity among traditional rulers in Southern Nigeria and criticized the current political system for not adequately representing the interests of the people. He urged President Tinubu to listen to the cries of the traditional rulers and work towards a more inclusive governance approach.

The event also featured discussions on the formation of the Southern Nigerian Traditional Ruler Council, aimed at advancing the interests of the region.
