Lawmaker Urges Tinubu to Release Nnamdi Kanu

Obi Aguocha, a lawmaker representing Ikwuano in the House of Representatives, has called on President Bola Tinubu to take action regarding the release of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). In a statement, Aguocha urged the Igbo community to rally behind Kanu, asserting that they will no longer accept a second-class citizenship status in Nigeria.

His comments were a reaction to recent statements made by Ez Ogbunechendo, a traditional ruler from the Olo Kingdom in Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State. Aguocha praised the courage of the monarch for speaking out and emphasized the importance of true leadership, which he believes involves standing up for the truth and the people.

He specifically requested that President Tinubu facilitate Kanu's return from Kenya to the United Kingdom, where he is currently not comfortable in Nigeria.
