ICPC Completes Investigation into PFIPC and Adeyemi

The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has completed its investigation into the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and its Director-General, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi. This investigation was initiated by President Bola Tinubu on July 7, 2023, due to concerns over the council's status and the N1.302 billion allocated to it in the 2026 Appropriation Act.

Sources indicate that the ICPC is finalizing its report for submission within the presidential deadline. Adeyemi, who has been in police custody since his arrest, was interrogated by the ICPC after a postponed session due to his lawyer's absence.

Concurrently, the House of Representatives ad hoc committee is also concluding its investigation, having uncovered document fraud related to the council. Committee Chairman Yusuf Gagdi noted that they could not question Adeyemi due to his custody status.

Adeyemi, through his legal representative Festus Akhigbe, has denied allegations of being the sole creator of the PFIPC.
