ICPC Interrogates Adeniyi Adeyemi Over PFIPC Allegations

Adeniyi Adeyemi, who is alleged to be the Director General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), is currently in police detention at the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Centre in Abuja. He was interrogated by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) regarding allegations that he falsely represented the PFIPC as an official presidential agency, using forged government documents to open bank accounts and seek recognition from government institutions.

The interrogation was initially delayed due to the absence of Adeyemi's lawyer but resumed later in the day. The investigation follows Adeyemi's claims that he received an appointment letter from Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, and that he paid for the position.

Gbajabiamila has denied these allegations, filed a lawsuit against Adeyemi, and appeared before the ICPC on July 20, 2026, to provide testimony related to the investigation.
