Bauchi Governor Discusses Security with Oyo's Makinde

On a visit to Ibadan, Oyo State, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed expressed concern over Nigeria's deteriorating security situation, attributing it to poor governance and widespread poverty. His remarks came during a sympathy visit to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, following the abduction of schoolchildren and a teacher from the Ahoro Esinl Community on May 15, 2026.

Mohammed emphasized the importance of citizens taking control of their destinies by electing capable leaders. He called for stronger collaboration among security agencies to address the growing security concerns in the country.

During the visit, he also congratulated Makinde on his emergence as the presidential candidate for the People's Movement and expressed confidence in the efforts being made to secure the release of the abducted individuals. Mohammed was accompanied by leaders from the People's Movement, including the party's national chairman, Yusuf Dantal, and Bauchi State governorship candidate Yakubu Adamu.
