Bauchi Governor Links Security Crisis to Poor Governance

During a visit to Oyo State, Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed stated that Nigeria's worsening security challenges are a result of poor governance and poverty. This visit coincided with the ongoing abduction of 40 schoolchildren and a teacher from the Ahoro Esinl Community in the Oriir Local Government Area, which occurred on May 15, 2026.

Mohammed, accompanied by leaders of the People's Movement, including National Chairman Yusuf Dantal and Bauchi State governorship candidate Yakubu Adamu, expressed solidarity with Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde. He emphasized the need for citizens to take charge of their destinies and elect capable leaders to address the security crisis.

Mohammed shared his grief over the abduction incident and expressed confidence that the Oyo State government would successfully secure the release of the abducted individuals. He also highlighted the necessity for improved synergy among security agencies to tackle the nation's security architecture effectively.
