Dickson and Obi Address NDC Internal Crisis Ahead of Elections

Seriake Dickson, a leader within the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), convened a meeting with Peter Obi, the party's presidential candidate, to discuss internal issues arising from the party's recent primaries. The meeting, which lasted three hours, aimed to address concerns about the conduct of the primaries, which faced allegations of irregularities.

Dickson acknowledged that the primaries were not without flaws and appealed to party members for patience as they navigate the challenges associated with the party's rapid expansion. Earlier in the week, former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso accused the party of replacing names in support of candidates linked to the Kwankwasiyya movement, leading to tensions within the party.

Dickson emphasized the need for unity and urged members to focus on the broader objective of winning elections and rescuing Nigeria from misgovernance under the APC-led government. He committed to ongoing consultations with stakeholders to resolve concerns and strengthen party cohesion.
