Peter Obi Visits NDC Leader Dickson After Tanko's Death

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), paid an early morning visit to the party leader, Senator Seriake Dickson, on Friday. The visit was in response to the death of Zamani Tanko, a retired deputy speaker who served for 15 years.

Obi expressed deep sorrow upon learning of Tanko's passing and extended heartfelt condolences to Dickson and the deceased's family. He acknowledged Tanko's loyalty and dedication to the party, stating that his loss would be felt by all who knew him.

Obi's visit was a gesture of solidarity during this time of grief. Additionally, the NDC recently announced the implementation of a newly introduced anti-defection oath aimed at discouraging elected officials from leaving the political platform that sponsored them.

However, it was clarified that Peter Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Kwankwaso, are exempt from signing this oath.
