Ex-Minister Uche Nnaji Faces ICPC Investigation Over Alleged Certification Forgery Scandal

Former Minister Uche Nnaji is under investigation by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for alleged certification forgery scandals following his departure from Tinubu's cabinet. The ICPC has opened an investigation into the certification scandal involving Nnaji, with allegations of forged credentials and a demand for documents.

Celin Nnebedum, the registrar of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), has been involved in the investigation, revealing discrepancies in Nnaji's academic records. Nnebedum initially confirmed Nnaji's graduation in 1985 but later recanted, stating that Nnaji did not complete his studies at UNN.

The investigation uncovered that UNN disowned the degree certificate presented by Nnaji, alleging that he did not complete his studies. Despite resigning, Nnaji maintains his innocence and insists on due process.

The scandal is linked to political pressures for religious balance in the 2027 presidential ticket.
