NASENI Launches Drone Training Centre in Kaduna

On October 19, 2026, the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) collaborated with the Kaduna State Government to advance home-grown technology. The event included the commissioning of the NASENI–Caverton Drone Training Centre at the Air Force Institute of Technology in Rigachukun, Igabi Local Government Area.
This facility is a result of a partnership between NASENI and Caverton Helicopters, which established NasCav Technology Limited to enhance indigenous aviation technology and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, NASENI Executive Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, announced that two cohorts of drone pilots have been trained.
The initiatives also featured the groundbreaking for a NASENI Skill Development Centre, aimed at providing practical vocational training, and the distribution of clean energy solutions to households. The overarching goal is to connect various sectors, including aviation and agriculture, to create economic value through local innovation.
