Allegations of Non-Existent Agency Spark Investigation

Allegations surfaced regarding the Presidenti Foreign Intervent Promot Council (PFIPC), which reportedly does not exist despite being mentioned in the 2026 Appropriations Act. Princ Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew claimed the agency operates from a physical office and has multiple bank accounts.

However, Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, disowned the agency, stating it does not exist and warning the public against its recognition. Adeyemi's claims included a budget allocation of N1,302,978,784 for the PFIPC, which he argued was captured in the 2026 budget.

Following these allegations, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar called for Gbajabiamila's suspension. Bayo Onanuga, a spokesperson for the President, defended Gbajabiamila and accused Adeyemi of spreading falsehoods.

The police arrested Adeyemi on October 27, 2025, for allegedly possessing forged documents related to the agency, with charges expected to be filed against him and two accomplices in July 2026.
