Kevin Akpoguma Joins Frosinone After Hoffenheim Exit

Kevin Akpoguma is set to join Serie A club Frosinone after completing his exit from Hoffenheim, where he played for over ten years. According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Frosinone has finalized negotiations for the 31-year-old centre-back, with contract details expected to be revealed soon.

Akpoguma joined Hoffenheim from Karlsruher in 2013 and had loan spells at Fortuna Düsseldorf and Hannover 96 before becoming a regular in the first team. However, his playing time diminished under manager Christian Ilzer, resulting in only nine appearances in his final season.

Following the expiration of his contract, he became a free agent. The move to Frosinone presents Akpoguma with an opportunity to regain regular first-team football as the club prepares for its Serie A campaign.

He will reunite with fellow Nigerian Akor Adams, who recently transferred to Venezia. Akpoguma has earned eight caps for the Super Eagles since his debut in 2020, with his last appearance in June 2023.
