Two Dead in Gombe Road Accident Involving Truck

On Wednesday at 11:30 AM, a fatal road accident occurred along the New Mile 3 axis of the Gombe-Yola Federal Highway, resulting in the deaths of two individuals, including Police Constable Sharifa Gaina, who was attached to the Gombe State Police Command. The accident involved a DAF truck with registration number XH 122 GME, which reportedly lost control after the driver attempted to enter a filling station while allegedly violating traffic regulations.

Preliminary findings indicated that the truck driver suffered brake failure, leading to the vehicle colliding with motorcycles and a nearby shop. The Gombe State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Samson Kaura, confirmed the incident and urged motorists to adhere to traffic regulations to prevent further tragedies.

The truck driver sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment. The crash also damaged three motorcycles and a nearby shop.
