32 Dead, 26 Injured in Kogi, Ogun, Kwara Road Crashes

On Sunday and early Monday, three road traffic crashes across Kogi, Ogun, and Kwara states led to 32 deaths and 26 injuries, as reported by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC). The first crash occurred at 12:30 PM on Sunday along the Oken-Lokoja road, involving a truck and a Toyota Sienna, resulting in seven fatalities and three injuries.

The second crash at 8:05 PM on the Sapad Bridge along the Ibadan-Lagos expressway involved a Sinotruk truck and a Toyota Hiace, leading to six deaths and two injuries. The third crash occurred early Monday on the Oko Olowo along the Ogbomosho-Oloru road, involving a Daf trailer, resulting in 15 fatalities and 17 injuries.

The FRSC identified causes such as tire bursts, speeding, and driver fatigue, urging motorists and transport companies to prioritize safety and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent future incidents.
