FRSC Warns Passengers Against Pressuring Drivers to Speed

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) conducted a sensitization campaign in Calabar, Cross River State, to educate motorists and passengers on safe road conduct ahead of the Sallah celebration. Innoc Tommi Etuk, the sector commander of FRSC in Cross River State, emphasized the dangers of passengers pressuring drivers to speed, which can lead to fatal crashes.

Etuk stated that while families want to celebrate upon arrival, they should prioritize safety to avoid mourning. The campaign also addressed the issue of drunk driving, revealing that a driver tested at 0.481 milligrams of alcohol per liter, significantly above the approved safety limit, was immediately withdrawn from duty to prevent potential road crashes.

The FRSC aims to ensure that safety is a priority for all road users during the festive period.
