FRSC Urges Caution for Motorists During Rainy Season

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) issued a statement on Monday urging motorists across Nigeria to reduce their speed and exercise greater caution during the rainy season. The agency highlighted that wet roads and poor visibility significantly increase the risk of accidents.

FRSC Marshal Shehu Moham emphasized that slippery roads are a leading cause of road crashes during this period. The agency pleaded with drivers to always maintain safe speed limits, keep a reasonable distance from other vehicles, and ensure their cars are in good condition before embarking on journeys.

Moham noted that rainfall often leads to reduced visibility and waterlogged road sections, posing serious dangers to motorists if not properly managed. The agency advised drivers to avoid sudden braking and to use headlights appropriately while focusing on driving.

The FRSC is committed to ensuring safer roads and has deployed patrol teams nationwide to monitor compliance and respond swiftly to emergencies. They further appealed to road users to cooperate with traffic officials and adhere strictly to safety regulations.
