FRSC Convicts 35 Traffic Offenders in Anambra State

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) conducted a mobile court session in Awka, Anambra State, where 35 traffic offenders were convicted for various infractions. The session was presided over by Chief Magistrate Adaora N.

Okoli and was part of the FRSC's strategy to reduce road traffic crashes through strict enforcement of traffic regulations. A total of 44 offenders were arraigned, with 35 convicted and nine discharged or acquitted.

The offenses included violations of seatbelt laws, speed limit devices, driver's licenses, vehicle licenses, and number plates, totaling 72 recorded traffic offenses. The proceedings were conducted in a peaceful atmosphere, with adequate security provided by armed personnel from the Nigeria Police Force.

Bridget Asekhauno, the sector command's corps commander, reaffirmed the commitment to strict enforcement of traffic laws to deter reckless driving and ensure safer roads in Anambra State.
