FRSC Enforces Restrictions on Articulated Vehicles in Abuja

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commenced enforcement of restrictions on articulated vehicles during peak traffic hours along the busy Aya Nyanya Kugbo corridor in Abuja. This initiative, which began on Thursday, aims to reduce road traffic crashes and improve traffic flow.

On the first day of operation, a total of 89 articulated vehicles were successfully restricted from operating during the designated peak periods. The exercise was led by Unit Commander RS7.13 Nyanya, CRC WF Luka, and involved a combined team of eight officers, 22 marshals, three patrol vehicles, and five motorbikes.

This enforcement follows recent interventions by the FRSC, which has constituted a high-level tactical team to address recurring crashes along the busy corridor. The initiative aligns with the FRSC's commitment to translating strategic goals into concrete actions as outlined in Section 223 of the National Road Traffic Regulations and aims to proactively prevent risks associated with heavy-duty articulated vehicles during peak hours.
