FRSC Restricts 300 Trucks in Kugbo Corridor for Safety

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) implemented restrictions on over 300 articulated vehicles along the Kugbo outbound corridor during peak hours, commencing operations on March 19, 2026. The initiative, as stated by spokesperson Felicia Kalu, recorded zero road traffic crashes during this period, reflecting strong compliance with the FRSC's enforcement targets aimed at improving road safety and traffic flow in the area.

The enforcement, which began on March 23, 2026, was led by unit command RS7 and the Nyanya CRC under the direction of WF Luka, resulting in the restriction of 96 articulated vehicles, contributing to a cumulative total of 300 trucks affected. The FRSC emphasized that this operation aligns with national road traffic regulations, particularly Section 223 of the existing FCT traffic regulations, and is part of the 2026 corporate strategic goal to reduce road traffic crashes nationwide.

The FRSC, led by Corps Marshal Shehu Moham, aims to deploy personnel and logistics for real-time traffic monitoring to ensure seamless enforcement and improve traffic management along the corridor.
