Fubara Urges Judiciary to Uphold Justice at Daniel-Kalio's Retirement

During a state banquet held on Wednesday night in Port Harcourt, Governor Sir Siminalayi Fubara addressed members of the Nigerian judiciary, urging them to prioritize justice above personal interests. This event was organized to honor Justice Obietonbara Owupel Daniel-Kalio, who recently retired from the Court of Appeal in Asaba.

Governor Fubara highlighted the need for high standards in public service, emphasizing that despite challenges, the judiciary must strive to restore integrity and uphold the truth. He described Justice Daniel-Kalio as a model for younger lawyers and politicians, encouraging them to maintain the primacy of truth throughout their careers.

The governor also noted that Justice Daniel-Kalio's retirement marks the end of an era, celebrating his contributions to justice and the impact he has had on the lives of many. Vera Sam Dike, the Solicitor General and Permanent Secretary of the Rivers State Ministry of Justice, also praised the retiring jurist for his courage, wisdom, and commitment to the rule of law.
