Rivers Government Defends Fubara Against Wike's Claims

The Rivers State Government, through Chief Press Secretary Nzeshi, responded to former Governor Nyesom Wike's accusations that current Governor Fubara is prioritizing his second-term ambitions over governance. Wike made these claims during a media chat in Abuja, alleging that Fubara reneged on an agreement not to seek re-election and criticized the handling of the 2026 budget.

Nzeshi refuted these allegations, asserting that Fubara remains committed to executing and inspecting critical infrastructure projects across the state. He highlighted that Fubara inherited 12 major road projects from the previous administration, which are at advanced stages of completion, including the Tran Kalabari Road and the Port Harcourt Ring Road project.

Nzeshi urged residents to disregard Wike's attempts to discredit Fubara's governance efforts.
