Fubara to Swear in Five Commissioners in Rivers State

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State is set to swear in five commissioners-designate on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 1 PM. This follows the confirmation of these nominees by the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Martin Amaewhul.

The Assembly had screened nine nominees but declined to confirm four due to issues such as poor performance and inconsistencies in submitted documents. The five cleared nominees include Mr.

Tony Belgam, Prof. Templ Nwafor, Dr.

Peter Nwogor, Dr. Leku Kenneth Amachre, and Edward Hart.

A statement issued by Dagogo Wokoma, the Secretary to the State Government, announced the confirmation and the details of the swearing-in ceremony, which will take place at the Executive Council Chamber in the Government House, Port Harcourt. Guests are expected to arrive by 12:30 PM for the event.
