Fubara’s loyalist announces date for his return as Rivers governor

Siminalayi Fubara's loyalists have announced the official countdown for his return as the Governor of Rivers State, with reinstatement expected on September 18, 2025. The state has been under emergency rule since March 18, 2025, when President Bola Tinubu suspended Fubara and his deputy, citing political crisis.

In Fubara's absence, projects like the Port Harcourt Ring Road and Trans Kalabari Road have suffered delays, but residents are eagerly awaiting his return to continue developmental initiatives. Fubara's aide, Jerry Omatsogunwa, emphasized the high expectations for the governor's comeback and the need to accelerate projects for the benefit of the people.

Despite the emergency rule, the administration led by retired Vice Admiral Ibas has assured its commitment to ongoing projects and restoring democracy through local government elections.
