Siminalayi Fubara to Resume as Rivers State Sole Administrator

Siminalayi Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, is set to resume office as the sole administrator following the expiration of the emergency rule declared by President Bola Tinubu on March 18, 2028. Fubara's return marks the end of the temporary leadership by Vice Admiral Ibok Ibas (retd).

Fubara's reinstatement comes after the conduct of local government elections in the state on August 30. His return signifies a shift in the state's governance and political landscape, as he becomes the third governor in Nigeria's democratic era to be suspended and reinstated after a state of emergency declaration.
