Fuel Distribution: Dangote Receives 1,000 Trucks, Set to Begin Direct Supply From South-West

Dangote Refinery is gearing up to start direct fuel distribution from its Lekki plant in the South-West region of Nigeria. The refinery has received 1,000 trucks for this purpose, with the remaining trucks expected to arrive soon.

The company plans to deliver fuel to marketers in Ogun state and eventually expand nationwide. However, a delay in truck deliveries from a Chinese logistics firm last week caused a setback.

Dangote Group aims to have at least 60 truck shipments every six weeks to meet demand. The move has raised concerns among tanker drivers and logistics operators about potential job losses.

The refinery's strategic distribution plan is expected to benefit millions of small and medium enterprises by reducing costs and improving profitability. The Natural Oil and Gas Suppliers Association of Nigeria has requested the refinery to suspend its plan and engage in dialogue to address concerns before commencing distribution.
