Dangote Refinery Fuel Rollout Stalled by China Logistics: Only 450 of 4,000 Trucks Delivered

The rollout of trucks for the Dangote Refinery's nationwide fuel distribution plan has been stalled due to logistical issues with Chinese shipping. Out of the planned 4,000 trucks, only 450 have been delivered so far, falling short of the initial target of 600 trucks.

A top official from the Dangote Group cited a lack of available ships from China to ferry the trucks as the reason for the delay. Despite this setback, the refinery aims to deploy Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks throughout Nigeria to reduce distribution costs and carbon emissions.

The delay has raised concerns about job losses in the industry, but the refinery has assured stakeholders that their roles, including tanker drivers, will be protected. The Dangote Refinery's ambitious plan aims to stabilize fuel prices and improve supply efficiency in Nigeria.
