Oyo Governor Makinde Approves N10,000 Salary Support

On Monday, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State announced a N10,000 salary support for state workers to help cushion the impact of the recent fuel price increase. This initiative, aimed at providing relief amid economic pressures, will commence in April and run for a period of three months.

Makinde expressed his satisfaction with this announcement during an event held in Ibadan. He noted that the payment would be a flat rate for all workers in the state and indicated that it might be extended if fuel-related challenges continue.

Furthermore, the governor mentioned that the state government is exploring ways to extend this benefit to residents outside the state workforce, ensuring proper management and inclusivity. This initiative is part of Makinde's administration's efforts to maintain ongoing support for residents facing economic difficulties.
