Fulani Herder Appeals for Help After Alleged Assault

Rabiu Umar, a Fulani herder from Toto Local Government Area in Nasarawa State, made a public appeal for assistance after allegedly being assaulted and intimidated by officials of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore. The incident occurred after Umar refused to delete a TikTok video in which he expressed his views regarding a ban on Sallah celebrations announced by the association.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Umar claimed he was attacked in Keffi after he was pressured to remove the video, which he stated contained no insults. He reported the incident to the police, seeking protection and justice, citing concerns for his safety.

The state chairman of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Alhaji Abubakar Akajo Gyera, denied the allegations of assault and clarified that the association's ban was not a total prohibition on Fulani youth participating in Sallah celebrations but rather specific restrictions on certain activities.
