Fresh Benue Attack Linked to Fulani Video Tensions

A deadly attack occurred in Benue State's Otukpo Local Government Area, leaving dozens dead and many injured. Activist Martin Vincent Ots, known as VDM, reported that a video sent by Fulani individuals may have triggered this violence.

The attack, which took place on a Sunday, has resulted in the recovery of approximately 50 lifeless bodies. The violence is believed to be connected to the recent killing of Alhaji Ardo Moham, the state chairman of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), who was shot dead on June 26 while attending a peace meeting.

This incident has sparked outrage among MACBAN members and raised concerns about growing insecurity in the region. Victims of the latest assault are receiving treatment at various medical facilities, while families continue to search for missing residents.

Security agencies are urged to track down those responsible to prevent further reprisals and worsening of the situation.
