114 Nigerian Universities Cleared for Law Programs

On March 13, the Council of Legal Education released a circular listing 114 universities in Nigeria that are authorized to admit students into Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) programs. The circular, signed by Aderonk Osho, the Director of Administration, cautions universities operating law programs without the council's approval to immediately desist, as they risk sanctions.

The council emphasized that students admitted to unapproved law programs will not be eligible for admission to the Nigerian Law School, which is mandatory for practicing law in Nigeria. The council will continue to monitor institutions offering law programs to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations governing legal education in the country.

The public is urged to verify the approval status of institutions before seeking admission into law faculties.
