Australia Lists 19 Countries for Working Holiday Agreements

Australia's Department of Home Affairs has published a list of 19 countries that hold reciprocal Working Holiday arrangements with Australia. This program allows young individuals from eligible countries to live and work in Australia while traveling, and similarly grants Australians the opportunity to work in the partner countries.

The list includes various countries from Western and Northern Europe, East Asia, and North America, but notably excludes any African nations. As a result, citizens from countries such as South Africa, Ghana, and Kenya are not covered by any such agreements and would need to seek alternative visa options to work and travel in Australia.

The absence of African countries from these agreements has sparked discussions, particularly as young Africans increasingly seek opportunities abroad amid rising emigration trends across the continent.
