Tinubu Appoints Tunji Disu as Acting Inspector General

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed Tunji Disu as the acting Inspector General of Police on a Tuesday, following the resignation of Kayode Egbetokun. Egbetokun, who served for four years, submitted his resignation letter, which was acknowledged by President Tinubu, expressing appreciation for Egbetokun's service.

Disu, previously the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department, will now lead the Nigeria Police Force. His appointment will impact several Deputy Inspectors General of Police, including Frank Mba, Moham Gumel, Adebola Hamzat, Yahaya Abubakar, Basil Idegwu, and Bzigu Kwazhi, who hold various significant roles within the organization.

Disu's career in the police began in 1999, and he has steadily risen through the ranks, holding multiple positions including Chief Superintendent and Commissioner of Police. His leadership is expected to enhance operational efficiency within the Nigeria Police Force.
