FG Unveils Revised School Curriculum to Improve Learning Outcomes

The Federal Government of Nigeria has released the approved subjects for the revised Basic and Senior Secondary Education Curriculum. The Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) announced the move to combat misinformation after a fake list circulated online.

The updated curriculum aims to balance academic knowledge and practical skills to prepare students for higher studies and modern society. The new framework covers subjects like English Studies, Mathematics, Nigerian Languages, Religious Studies, History, and Citizenship Studies.

NERDC's Executive Secretary, Professor Salisu Shehu, confirmed the curriculum will take effect from Primary 1 to SS 1, with nationwide teacher training programs for smooth implementation.
