Tinubu Appoints 65 Ambassadors for Nigeria

President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of 65 ambassadors, which includes 31 non-career and 34 career ambassadors, to represent Nigeria in various countries. The announcement was made by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Strategic Communications, on Friday.

The Senate is expected to confirm these nominations in December 2025 following a screening by the Committee on Foreign Affairs. The list includes notable figures such as Senator Grace Bent to Togo, Ita Enang to South Africa, and Femi Fani-Kayode to Germany, among others.

The ambassadors will commence their induction program immediately and will assume their duties upon receiving agreements from their respective host countries.
