Tinubu Approves Posting of 65 Ambassadors Abroad

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 ambassadors to various Nigerian missions abroad. This list includes 31 non-career ambassadors and 34 career ambassadors, with the Nigerian Senate set to confirm these appointments by December 2025.

Among the notable non-career ambassadors is Reno Omokri, who has been appointed to Mexico. Other appointments include Ita Enang to South Africa, Grace Bent to Togo, and Mahmud Yakubu, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to Qatar.

Additionally, Lateef Kayode, a former director of the Department of State Services (DSS), will serve in the United States, while Jimoh Ibrahim will represent Ondo South in the Senate. Femi Fani-Kayode has been assigned to Germany, Isaac Adewole to Canada, Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau to China, Olufemi Pedro to Australia, and Aminu Dalhatu to the United Kingdom.

Bayo Onanuga will serve as a special adviser to the president on strategic communications.
