Tinubu Deploys 65 Ambassadors, Yakubu to Qatar

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sanctioned the deployment of 65 ambassadors, comprising 31 career diplomats and 34 non-career diplomats, to various Nigerian missions across the globe. This strategic move aims to enhance Nigeria's global engagement.

Among the notable appointments is former chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, who will serve as Nigeria's ambassador to Qatar. Other significant appointments include former Minister of Interior, Lt.

Gen. Abdulrahman Bello Dambazau (retd), to China; former presidential aide Reno Omokri to Mexico; and former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode to Germany.

The list also features various former state officials and diplomats assigned to countries such as the United States, Canada, Australia, and several others across Africa, Europe, and Asia. This deployment is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Nigeria's international relations and representation.
