Tinubu Appoints 65 Ambassadors to Foreign Missions

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 ambassadors to Nigeria's foreign missions, as announced in a statement issued by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, on Friday. The appointments include 31 non-career ambassadors and 34 career diplomats, whose nominations were confirmed by the Nigerian Senate in December of the previous year.

The ambassadors are assigned to various countries across Europe, Africa, Asia, and America, as well as to multilateral missions. Notable non-career appointments include Grace Bent to Togo, Ita Enang to South Africa, Okezie Ikpeazu to Spain, and Nkechi Linda Ufochukwu to Tel Aviv, Israel.

Other appointments include Mahmud Yakubu to Qatar, Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas to the Philippines, and Reno Omokri to Mexico. Former Minister of Health, Isaak Folorunso Adewole, will represent Nigeria in Ottawa, Canada.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been directed to begin an induction program for the ambassadors ahead of their deployment.
