FUOYE Lecturers Commence Indefinite Strike Over Unpaid Salaries

Lecturers at the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) have commenced an indefinite strike due to unpaid salaries. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) branch at FUOYE issued a letter on September 11, 2025, addressing the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olubunmi Shittu, stating the strike was in line with a national directive from ASUU.

The union specified that the strike would persist until lecturers receive their salaries, as directed by the National Executive Council of ASUU. The branch emphasized that salary payments must be made by the third day of each month to avoid industrial action.

The strike will continue until salaries are paid, with the union urging the university administration to comply promptly.
