University of Ibadan Lecturers Join Nationwide ASUU Strike, Campus Activities Disrupted

Lecturers at the University of Ibadan have fully complied with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) nationwide two-week warning strike, leading to a halt in academic activities on campus. The strike, which began on a Monday, is in response to the federal government's failure to meet the long-standing demands of the union.

Dr. Adefemi Afolabi, the chairman of ASUU UI chapter, confirmed the strike's commencement and stated that it will continue until further instructions are received from the national secretariat.

The strike has resulted in the closure of lecture halls, offices, and major administrative buildings across the campus, with a focus on ensuring strict adherence to the industrial action.
