YABATECH Appeals for Alumni Support for University Transition

Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH) is actively seeking support from its alumni to aid in its transition to university status. Prof.

Funsho Afolabi, Chairman of the Governing Council, made this appeal during the 2026 annual general meeting of the YABATECH Alumni Association. He described the proposed transition as a historic milestone that requires collective commitment from stakeholders, particularly graduates of the institution.

Afolabi noted that YABATECH has already implemented strategic measures to facilitate a seamless transformation into a university focused on technology and vocational studies. He urged alumni to leverage their influence and resources to attract partnerships and support for the college.

The meeting also featured remarks from Dr. Ibraheem Abdul, who emphasized the importance of collaboration among management, staff, and alumni to achieve the institution's aspirations.

The alumni association aims to promote educational innovation and address national challenges through strategic initiatives.
