FUTA Teaching Hospital Appeals to Health Workers Against Strike

FUTA Teaching Hospital management has requested that health workers, represented by the Nigerian Union of Allied Health Professionals, delay their planned industrial action scheduled to commence on April 8, 2026. The union, led by Chairman Elusoji Olumid, had threatened to strike due to unresolved trade disputes affecting staff welfare and working conditions.

In a statement from the hospital's Head of Public Relations, Tope Fayehun, the management described the union's allegations as unfounded and misleading, asserting that they do not reflect the collaborative processes in place. The management emphasized its commitment to staff welfare and the delivery of world-class healthcare.

They called for the union to engage in constructive dialogue rather than pursue industrial action. The statement also highlighted that the hospital operates within established best practices and that all actions taken align with standards aimed at optimizing patient care.
