FUTA Teaching Hospital Seeks Stakeholder Support for Growth

The Federal University of Technology Akure Teaching Hospital, located in Ondo State, is appealing for stakeholder support to enhance its development initiatives. Professor Olusegun Ojo, the Chief Medical Director, made this appeal during the hospital's first anniversary celebration on Thursday.

Established by the federal government in March 2015, the hospital aims to be a premier training hub for healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, while also focusing on medical research. The institution is dedicated to becoming a leading center for medical research in Nigeria, collaborating with local and international partners.

The hospital plans to improve healthcare delivery through specialized services, including cancer care and neurosurgery, while also addressing public health policies. However, it faces significant challenges, particularly in funding and budget management.

The Ondo State government and traditional ruler, Oba Aladetoyinbo Aladelusi, have been supportive of the hospital's development efforts.
