Galadima Alleges Plot to Bar Kwankwaso from Kano Amid Political Tensions

Buba Galadima, a political associate, has alleged a coordinated plot to bar former Kano State Governor Kwankwaso from visiting his home state. Galadima claimed that there are documents from the Presidential Villa seeking to prevent Kwankwaso's return to Kano, with the aim of frustrating the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader.

This allegation comes amidst heightened political tensions in Kano as APC and NNPP continue to vie for dominance ahead of the 2027 general elections. Galadima further accused Kwankwaso's political enemies of intensifying efforts to limit his movements.

Additionally, there are reports of US lawmakers proposing sanctions against Kwankwaso under the Nigeria Religious Freedom Account Act of 2026, alleging religious persecution. Despite these pressures, Kwankwaso has firmly rejected any inducements to defect from APC, maintaining his political stance.

Galadima emphasized sustained efforts to pressurize Kwankwaso to defect, which the former governor has resisted, refusing to shift his political ground.
