Galadima Defends Kwankwaso Against Terrorism Allegations

Buba Galadima, a prominent figure in the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), has publicly defended former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso against allegations that connect him to terrorism and the promotion of Sharia law. Galadima asserts that these claims are politically motivated attempts to obstruct Kwankwaso's aspirations for the presidency and vice-presidency in the upcoming 2027 elections.

He highlighted that Kwankwaso, during his tenure as governor from 2000 to 2003, supported then-President Olusegun Obasanjo despite the political risks involved. Galadima described the allegations of Kwankwaso's financial ties to terrorism as baseless and an effort to tarnish his reputation ahead of the elections.

He also accused certain media outlets and politicians of being complicit in spreading unverifiable reports that damage Kwankwaso's image. Furthermore, Galadima clarified that Kwankwaso did not implement Sharia law according to its strict dictates, which eventually allowed Ibrahim Shekarau to become governor.
