Osimhen Injured in Galatasaray's Win Over Başakşehir

During Galatasaray's 3-2 win against Istanbul Başakşehir on Friday, Victor Osimhen sustained a groin injury. The Nigerian striker scored the first goal in the 13th minute after receiving a pass from Lucas Torreira.

However, he was substituted in the 33rd minute due to discomfort, with Barış Alper Yılmaz taking his place. Galatasaray's manager, Okan Buruk, confirmed that Osimhen will undergo further medical examinations to evaluate the injury's extent.

Buruk mentioned that while the groin area is susceptible to injuries, it typically heals faster than hamstring injuries. The team is awaiting the results of the scans to determine the seriousness of Osimhen's condition and his potential recovery time.

This injury is particularly concerning as Galatasaray is set to face Sporting Lisbon in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday. Osimhen has had a strong season start, scoring six goals and providing two assists in four league matches.
