Galatasaray's Osimhen Shines in Istanbul Derby Victory
Okan Buruk, the head coach of Galatasaray, credited the growing understanding between Victor Osimhen and Aleksey Batrakov as pivotal in their 2-1 victory against Fenerbahce in the first Istanbul derby of the season. Osimhen was instrumental, scoring once in each half, while Irfan Kahveci managed to pull a goal back for Fenerbahce.
This victory allowed Galatasaray to ascend to the top of the Turkish Super League table, establishing a six-point lead over their city rivals, with Amedspor positioned between the two teams. After the match, Buruk highlighted the transformation of Batrakov since his arrival at Galatasaray, noting his quick adaptation to the team's aggressive style of play and the effectiveness of his partnership with Osimhen.
With this derby win, Galatasaray is now set to focus on their upcoming away match against Konyaspor in Konya.
